We have just wrapped the opening weekend of the NORAM circuit here in Silver Star, British Columbia. I am happy with my results in both races and glad that I came out here early. Saturday was longer classic sprint. I qualified and ended up 23rd on the day getting 5th in my quarterfinal.
Sunday was a 15k individual classic. A race I enjoy very much. With the stadium being at elevation of 1650m, pacing becomes very important on the long and hilly course. I paced it pretty well and just skied and smooth and loose as I could. I ended up 17th (10th Canadian) and less than 2 seconds out of my goal of top 15.
Now I will do a small training camp with the Yukon Team here in Silverstar before heading to Rossland on Thursday morning. I look forward to doing some more speed this week, and racing next weekend at a lower altitude.
